Fitness, Flexibility, Strength and Core Area - An Introduction

How Can We Achieve a Better Golf Game?

The first step for improving your golf game and avoiding physical setbacks is a solid general exercise program that increases your overall fitness. The second step is more targeted training that includes specific stretching, strengthening, and sequencing exercises to improve your overall game.

Fitness – Why Is It Important?

  • 18 Holes without feeling fatigued.
  • Produce a powerful and co-ordinated swing.
  • Reduce recovery time between rounds.
  • Endurance gives you mental clarity at the end of rounds.
  • Allows you to hit solid golf shots.
  • Cope with hot and cold playing conditions
  • Improve confidence
  • Improves your ability to use imagery.

Flexibility
Flexibility is defined as one’s available range of motion about a specific joint.Flexibility might be one of the most important components of the successful golf swing because it increases the movement distance for force application.

When a muscle is pre-stretched, it creates elastic recoil that applies additional force for a more powerful contraction. This procedure is known as preloading the muscle.

Strength / Power
We define movement as:

A series of repeated muscular contractions regulated by the nervous system and directed by motor learning pathways.

Comprehensive muscular development is the first step toward improving your golf game and avoiding physical setbacks.

Where Is Your Core Area?

Core muscle groups

The Core muscle group, as illustrated above, is the most important for golf.
Why Is It Important?
Work and develop strength from the core region of the body outward.Allows periphery to work correctly.

Able to maintain the correct posture and alignment, particularly in the lumber spine and pelvic area - key areas in any golf swing.
